THROUGH THE EAST ANGLIAN FEDERATION OF PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETIES'
Members meet on alternate Tuesday evenings in St. Martin's Church Rooms, Castle Street, Chipping Ongar at 7.30 pm for a 7.45pm start, with a coffee/tea break during the evening. Meetings end at 10.00pm.
Ours is a friendly environment in which those interested in photography can enhance their abilities and knowledge through sharing the experience of fellow members, visiting lecturers and club workshop activities. The club holds an Annual Exhibition in the Budworth Hall Ballroom, Ongar for the display of members' prints. Our next show is on Saturday 31st May, 2008 and is open to the public from 9.00am to 4.00pm. There is access for wheelchairs, and admission is free.
Club members are of mixed ability, from beginners to the timely experienced. All our members are now using digital cameras and appreciate being able to take as many pictures as they want without having to pay for x rolls of film and processing costs. Also, the being able to review their images before leaving the location. we do have a few members who also occasionally shoot with slide film.
In this digital age our computers can become our digital darkrooms with the opportunity of home printing, or sending digital files away for printing. Our programme includes a number of members workshops, some devoted to the digital darkroom.
For those of a more competitive spirit the club runs competition assignments to generate diversification of photographic experience, and to help compile a group portfolio for exhibition; and the occasional inter-club competition.
